These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern private volleyball lesson bookings made with DigSetSpike LLC ("DigSetSpike," "we," "us," or "our") through our online booking system. By submitting a booking request, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the athlete you are registering.
1. Booking & Payment
Lesson times are requested through our online scheduling tool. Your requested time is held as soon as you submit a request. Your total payment has two parts: our coach fee ($50/hour), and a facility fee (typically $100–$150) that covers the court at the venue where your lesson takes place — see our booking page for the facilities we currently work with. We pay the facility fee to the venue on your behalf, and will follow up after your booking request with the exact total based on venue availability. Please Zelle the combined total to , including the athlete's name in the transfer note so we can match your payment to your request. Requests that remain unpaid for an extended period may be released to other families.
2. Confirmation of Your Booking
A submitted request is marked Pending until we verify your Zelle payment, which is typically completed within 24 hours. Once verified, your booking is marked Confirmed and you will receive an email with the final lesson time and location. A lesson time is not guaranteed until it has been marked Confirmed.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling by You
We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please email us as soon as possible.
- If you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time, we will refund the coach fee in full, or credit it toward a future lesson at your choice. The facility fee is paid to the venue in advance to hold your court time, so we can only refund it if the venue's own policy allows — we are not able to guarantee a refund of the facility fee, even with advance notice.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time, and lessons missed without notice, are not eligible for a refund or credit of either fee, except at our discretion (for example, documented illness or emergency).
4. Cancellations by DigSetSpike
On occasion, we may need to cancel or reschedule a lesson due to coach illness, weather, facility unavailability, or other circumstances beyond our control. If we cancel a scheduled lesson, we will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative time. If a suitable alternative can't be arranged, or you'd prefer not to reschedule, we will refund all fees you paid for that lesson — both the coach fee and the facility fee — in full.
This refund is your sole and exclusive remedy for a lesson we cancel. We are not responsible for any other costs, losses, or damages — direct or indirect — arising from a cancellation, including but not limited to travel expenses, lost wages, or other arrangements made around the lesson time.
5. Assumption of Risk
Volleyball is a physical activity that carries an inherent risk of injury, including sprains, strains, collisions, and falls. By booking a lesson, you acknowledge this risk on behalf of the participating athlete and agree that DigSetSpike, its coaches, and the facilities we use are not liable for injuries sustained during a lesson, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct. Athletes should be in suitable physical condition to participate; please let us know in advance of any medical condition or injury we should be aware of.
6. SafeSport: Parent/Guardian Presence Required
To comply with the U.S. Center for SafeSport's policies on one-on-one interactions between adults and minor athletes, a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult must be present and remain on-site for the entire duration of any private lesson with a minor athlete. This is a firm requirement, not a recommendation — we are not able to begin or continue a lesson if the athlete would otherwise be alone with the coach. Please plan to stay at the facility, or arrange for another adult to do so, for the full lesson time.
7. Lesson Location & Equipment
Lessons take place at one of a small number of courts we work with — see our booking page for current locations. The exact location depends on availability for your requested time and will be confirmed along with your Confirmed booking email. We provide training balls; athletes should come prepared with knee pads, appropriate athletic wear and shoes, and water.
8. Conduct
We want every lesson to be a positive, safe experience. We reserve the right to end a lesson early or decline future bookings in cases of unsafe conduct. Ending a lesson for this reason is not a cancellation by DigSetSpike under Section 4, and no refund is owed for the unused portion of that lesson.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page at the time of your booking request applies to that booking.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
