Build Real Skills.
Love the Game.
Small-group clinics and private lessons for young volleyball players ages U12–U15. Certified coaching that develops fundamentals — so your athlete can compete with confidence.
A Goal-Driven Coaching Approach
Every session is built around where your athlete is now and where they want to go. Ecological-Dynamics (Eco-D) focused, purposeful, progressive training.
Set Goal
We start by understanding each athlete's current skill level, playing experience, and personal goals — whether it's making the school team, improving their serve, or building all-round confidence on the court.
Train with Purpose
We map out a targeted training plan that focuses on the fundamentals that matter most: passing, setting, serving, attacking, and court positioning. Every rep is intentional.
Improve & Compete
With the right foundations in place, athletes naturally gain confidence and start to perform better in their team environments — more consistent, quicker to react, and ready to compete at the next level.
Training Format
We believe in the Ecological-Dynamics (Eco-D) philosophy, which is a proven approach that improves athlete skill transfer and retention.

What Makes Our Coaching Different
Certified & Safe
USAV IMPACT I and Art of Coaching volleyball Head Coach Level 1 certified, SafeSport trained. Our coaching meets the national standards for youth volleyball instruction — so parents can have full confidence.
Small Groups Only
We keep groups small on purpose. With a smaller number of athletes per clinic, every player gets the kind of individual correction and feedback that makes a real difference.
Measurable Progress
We focus on fundamentals that translate directly into better game performance. Athletes leave our clinics with better mechanics, more consistent passing, and sharper serves.
Supportive Culture
Great coaching builds confidence, not just technique. We create an environment where athletes feel safe to try new things, make mistakes, and grow — without pressure or embarrassment.
Structured Curriculum
Each clinic follows a planned, progressive curriculum — not random drills. Skills build on each other week to week, so athletes develop a complete foundation by the end of the program.
Reps That Matter
Ball touches add up fast in our sessions. A typical clinic produces hundreds of quality contacts per athlete — far more than what most players get in a team practice of the same length.
Coach Jay
Founder, Head Coach & Lifelong Volleyball Player
Coach Jay brings more than three decades of volleyball playing experience to every session. Having competed across multiple levels and coached club volleyball, Jay understands the game from the inside — and more importantly, knows how to break it down for young athletes who are just getting started.
The inspiration behind DigSetSpike is simple: the jump in skill required between U13 and U15 is steep, and too many young players get left behind simply because they never had the chance to build solid individual fundamentals. Jay's goal is to bridge that gap — giving every athlete the reps, the correction, and the confidence they need to stay in the game and enjoy it for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who are these clinics designed for?
Our clinics are designed for youth volleyball players ages U12–U15 with roughly 0–2 years of playing experience. This is the window where building the right fundamentals has the biggest long-term impact — before the game speeds up significantly at the U14/U15 level. If your athlete is older or more experienced, reach out and we can talk through whether a private lesson would be a better fit.
My child has never played volleyball before — is that OK?
Absolutely. Our clinics are specifically designed to welcome beginners. We will adjust what each player trains on based on their playing experience and skill level.
Can my child join mid-clinic, or do they need to start from the beginning?
We recommend starting from the beginning of a clinic cycle so your athlete gets the full progressive experience. However, if a session is still in the early weeks and a spot has opened, reach out — we can discuss whether late enrollment makes sense based on where the group is in the curriculum.
How are private lessons different from the group clinic?
Private lessons are completely individualized — every minute of coaching time is focused on your athlete's specific needs. This is ideal for players who want to accelerate progress in a particular area (e.g. serving or hitting approach), athletes preparing for team tryouts, or those whose schedule doesn't line up with the clinic dates. Group clinics, on the other hand, offer a structured curriculum, peer interaction, and a more affordable entry point.
What should my athlete bring to sessions?
Court shoes suitable for indoor volleyball (clean, non-marking soles), comfortable athletic clothing, KNEE PADS, a water bottle, and a positive attitude. All volleyballs are provided.
What is USAV IMPACT certification?
USA Volleyball's IMPACT (Increased Mastery of Principles, Applications, Concepts and Techniques) certification is the national standard for volleyball coaches in the United States. IMPACT I is the entry-level coaching certification covering fundamentals, skill instruction, and safe training practices. Combined with SafeSport certification, it means our coaching meets the safety and quality standards set by the national governing body for the sport.
